Netanyahu Endorses Ceasefire with Hezbollah

In a televised address, Netanyahu said Israel must accept the agreement to focus on the Iranian threat, allow the Israeli army to rest and rearm, and isolate Hamas. Lebanese officials announced that the agreement would come into effect on Wednesday. The announcement followed a day when Israeli ground forces advanced deep into Lebanese territory, while Beirut was heavily bombarded. The Israeli army also reported that its troops reached the Litani River in southern Lebanon, a significant marker in the conflict. Israel has demanded that Hezbollah withdraw its forces north of the river.
