Akfen Electricity's Solar Power Project Hits Milestone as EIA Process Kicks Off

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process has begun for the Solar Power Plant (PV) project planned by Akfen Electricity. An announcement on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit and Inspection provided the following details:

"The GELİNKAYA SOLAR POWER PLANT (35.75 MWm / 30 MWe - 44.88 ha) and ELECTRICITY STORAGE FACILITY (30 MWe / 60 MWh) project, planned to be constructed by AKFEN ELEKTRİK ENERJİSİ TOPTAN SATIŞ A.Ş. in the AŞKALE district of ERZURUM province, in the Topalçavuş and Ocaklı neighborhoods, has had its EIA Application File reviewed in accordance with Article 8 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation. It has been determined that the application has been prepared in accordance with the EIA General Format, and the EIA process for the project has been initiated. Until the completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment process, any information regarding the process, as well as opinions, questions, and suggestions related to the project, can be sent to the ERZURUM Governorship (Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change) or the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change."
